Dr. Thies has taught this three day 'How-to-Make Microcapsules™' short course annually since 1981. It continues to evolve in order to keep pace with the steadily changing microcapsule technology. It is the longest running lab/lecture course in the world devoted exclusively to the hands-on teaching of students on the synthesis of microcapsules by a variety of different techniques.

Day One:

10:15-Noon: Solvent Evaporation Lecture/Lab

Noon-1:30 PM: Lunch

1:30-3:30 PM: Complex Coacervation Lecture/ Lab

3:30-3:45 PM: Break

3:45-5:00 PM: Interfacial Polymerization Lecture

Day Two:

8:30-10:00 AM: Evaluation of Day 1 Lab Experiments

10:00-10:15 AM: Break

10:15-Noon: Interfacial Polymerization Lab and In situ Lecture

1:30-3:30 PM: In situ Polymerization Lab

3:45-5:00 PM: Ionic and Thermal Gelation Lecture

Day Three:

8:30-10:00 AM: Evaluation of Day 2 Lab Experiments
