Complex Coacervation Encapsulation Technology™ Short Course

Complex Coacervation Encapsulation Technology -- November 1, 2 and 3, 2017
Item# Course012
$3,500.00

Due to the high interest in Dr. Thies’ expertise in Complex Coacervation Thies Technology now offers a three day, hands-on lecture and lab covering this encapsulation methodology. Topics will include terminology, solution preparation, lab experiments, and characterization.

COMPLEX COACERVATION ENCAPSULATION TECHNOLOGY™ COURSE OUTLINE:

Lecture: Introductory overview of complex coacervation including terminology. Current understanding of causes (i.e., theory background). Positives/problems with complex coacervation encapsulation technology. Impact of polymer solution properties and interfacial phenomena on capsule formation.

Lab: Preparation of solutions for lab experiments. Experimental determination of conditions under which complex coacervation occurs. Begin 1st and 2nd series of complex coacervation runs. These runs will illustrate the effect of gelatin used, core material being encapsulated and bloom strength on capsule formation.
